The overwater villas at Soneva Jani are split between Chapter One and Chapter Two at either end of Medhufaru island, while the island villas, which fall into both Chapters, are in the middle.
The Chapter One Water Retreats are the original overwater villas, and are close to the overwater dining destination called The Gathering. This 24 one to four-bedroom Water Retreats all have private pools, while most have water slides into the lagoon and a retractable roof over the master bed.
The brand new Chapter Two Water Reserves are slightly larger than the Water Retreats, and are closer to The Crab Shack and Cinema Paradiso. The 27 one to four-bedroom Reserves have private pools, large pool decks, most have water slides into the lagoon and a retractable roof over the master bed.

Dine on a secret menu, prepared by one of the chefs, in a secret, ever-changing location. There is no menu, with each dish tailored to your preferences. The chef will reveal themselves only after the meal, to talk about the concept, ingredients and what inspired them. It is advised that guests book before 16:00 on Thursday.

Eco-friendly surfing
Discover and secret surf breaks in the Noonu Atoll accompanied by our surf instructor/guides. All surf breaks are accessible within a 5 – 35 minute speedboat ride. Surf season is dependent on Mother Nature’s mood, though it does peak from May – September. Waves range from waist to head height. All equipment is eco-friendly and made from recycled wasted, making us the firstfully sustainable surfing programme in the world.
Soneva in Aqua Day Experience
After your on-shore breakfast, the captain and crew will welcome you aboard Soneva in Aqua and set sail for the snorkelling areas within the Baa Atoll, the only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives. • All visitors to the Maldives must possess a valid passport and return air ticket. A complimentary, 30-day tourist visa will be issued upon arrival.
• If guests are arriving from Yellow Fever-infected areas, they must produce a vaccination certificate.
• Guests may not bring alcohol, pork products, pornography or weapons into the Maldives. These items will be confiscated at the airport and disposed by the airport authorities.
